IMAP

Internet Message Access Protocol. A protocol for retrieving emails from a server while keeping them stored remotely.

Definition

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a protocol for retrieving email messages from a mail server. Unlike POP3, IMAP keeps emails stored on the server and synchronizes across multiple devices. This allows users to access the same inbox from their phone, computer, and web browser with changes reflected everywhere.
