Understand how verification credits are used and tracked.
Credit usage
- 1 credit = 1 email verification
- Credits are deducted when you submit a verification
- If a verification cannot be run on our side, its credits are refunded
- Cached results within 24 hours use 0.5 credits
Credit allocation
- On a paid plan, your plan's credits are added to your balance on each billing date
- Credits you have not used stay in your balance
- Credit packs you buy are added to the same balance
- Free-plan credits are a one-time grant and do not reset
- Upgrades take effect immediately
- Need more before your next billing date? Buy a credit pack from the Buy credits tab in Settings → Billing
Monitoring usage
Track your credit usage in the Dashboard:
- Real-time credit balance
- Usage graphs and trends
- Alerts when running low
- Detailed usage history
Running out of credits
When credits are exhausted:
- API returns 402 Payment Required
- Nothing is charged automatically: requests are refused until you buy a credit pack or upgrade
- Review low-credit alerts so you can top up before work is interrupted
